If you had to choose between the two, which would you go for?
The taranis seems to be a no brainer: bargain price, sbus out, option to plug in an EzUHF module and (from what the reviews say) pretty bomb proof 2.4 range.
But am i missing something over the 14SG?
To be honest i'd prefer not to have to buy either, but the receiver issues with the Phantom 2 means i need one or the other.
I'd go futaba but that's because I like the feel of them and the fact it works so well.
Trannis is cheaper though....
The Taranis is the best radio I've used full stop!
I was a avid futaba man & loved my dear old 9c but after using the frsky for a few months I sold the futaba & haven't missed it one bit since. I've got a friend who's got a 14sg & it sure ain't worth the extra money in my opinion, it's a good radio & he loves it but you get so much more for money with FRSKY.
We've got a few left if you need one.
I love my Futaba's, my son has a Taranis and it is a great radio and so far as I've seen there is no technical reason not to buy a Taranis. I would also take into consideration the significant cost of the receivers and things like UHF/Telemetry options if applicable.
Perhaps, buy a Taranis and if you don't like it sell it on, you can't lose much.
