I ordered a set of the Phantom 2 props to try on my Phantom v1.1.1, the original self tightening props fly fine but as this phantom is heavy (gimbal/gopro/VTX) I wanted to see if the new ones were better. The Phantom 2 props are much flatter section, and supposedly more efficient so use less power for longer flights, also they spin right onto my Phantom v1.1.1 so are quick and easy to compare back to back.
After I ordered these I read some bad reviews of the Phantom 2 props, being noisy/vibrating, so hadn't got round to trying them until today, having done a quick test I'm pretty pleased.
I checked/balanced the props before fitting, two of them were very out of balance and took several passes of sanding to sort, so my guess is the other reports were from unbalanced props out of the packet. You can balance these self tightening props easily using a dubro balancer and a bit of fuel tubing to mount the props onto, I stuck a video on youtube showing this if you search 'balancing self tightening props'.
I have only done a quick back to back comparison, so can't comment on flight times, but I was impressed with their climb performance, and they seem more stable in descent, so especially for heavy Phantoms I think they are definitely worth trying.

UPDATE: I did a semi scientific flight time test this morning, took two identical 2200mah 40C packs, topped them off on charger (Cellpro 10S), then flew 5 mins exactly hovering 8ft up with both original and Phantom 2 props. This is on Phantom v1.1.1 with ebay gimbal, gopro3 and video transmitter so its plenty heavy, AUW is 1240g.
Results are pretty impressive, and confirm 20% improvement in flight time, which I was very sceptical about.
Original props 5 mins 1454mah, this works out to a predicted 6.05mins 80% flight time.
Phantom 2 props 5 mins 1217mah, this works out to a predicted 7.23mins 80% flight time.
Based on this single back to back test the original props took 20% more power for the exact same flight.
Hope this is useful.
