Firstly, before I introduce my ground station, a thank-you is needed for a few people!
Gundummy – For parts, laughter and inspiration
Dizzle – For kindly sending me the EzUHF cable all the way from Cornwall
The Forum – For being kind and a great bunch of people!
The Ground Station!
My ground station needed to be contained, I have OCD when it comes to cables, batteries stuck randomly to boxes (You should see how GD mounted his lipos to his MK1 ground station, made I laugh for ages) and kit all over the place. I also wanted 2 people to use it in a way for missions.
The Equipment
ImmersionRc - EzUHF
ImmersionRc - UNO5800 v2
FirstPersionView.co.uk - Pocket DVR
Polaris 13v LCD TV
Samsung Galaxy S4
12v 7Ah PB battery
I use APM now as my flight controller so my first idea was to mount a laptop alongside the TV, I quickly run out of room and it looked cluttered. The final nail in the coffin was the laptop required a 4s lipo to run it, I only wanted to use one battery!
Here is how the ground station looks before its erected (just for you Dizzle)
The tripod will be strapped to the case and held in one had
The thing I'm flying will be in my other hand
The back pack that has the 12v PB battery in the bottom with my googles and TX in the top will be...on my back
That's the plan anyway

There is a cable that runs from the back pack to the side of the ground station that provides power for the all of the electronics, the backpack with the PB battery is hung underneath to weigh the tripod down more to stop it tipping over in the wind
Inside The Case
The lid makes a handy shelf to put stuff on to, rather than the floor!

The Switches!
Top left LED rocker switch = ImmersionRc UNO5800 On/Off
Top right LED rocker switch = ImmersionRc EzUHF On/Off
Bottom left rocker switch = Connected to DVR
(as soon as switched 'On' it boots up and starts to record, stops recording when switched 'Off' and auto powers down)
The EzUHF & UNO5800 are protected inside the case too, only the tops show!

Whats Left To Do
I need to make a sun shade that will pop out when the case opens, this will be made from a non reflective fabric (you would be surprised how many sun shades are made from shiny material)
I need to also mount the APM telemetry through the top of the case via a USB connection
A few other bits and bobs too!
Anyway, enough for now, I hope you like and it works well when flying! I plan to use my Fatsharks with skews, and then use a helical on the GS for longer reach!
Adding a tracker will be easy enough as all ill need to do it mount it to the tripod!
Thanks for looking!
Ben
