Don't think I've shown this yet so here is my Z60 Quadspar. I built this thing to handle 150mph vertical dives.
It comes stock with 4x6mm carbon spars with predrilled holes. Plus 3mm glass fiber rods, 2 per each side of wing which channels are cut and gorilla glued in. 4 carbon rods, 8 glass rods. I also added 3mm carbon rod into the leading edge plus 10mm carbon strip is inlaid into the trailing edge along the whole length of the wing. Then it's been sanded and filled and got 2 layers of 125micron film glued on with Tesa Extra strong. This thing is ridiculously stuff.
Fitted my own laser cut battery boxes and electronics bay from 3mm ply for more strength.
RVOSD G5, Dragon Link V2 PPM soo easy. Cat6 shielded cable for video. One battery setup got 12v regulator and LC filter plus BEC for RVOSD/Servos. Hitec 645MG servos.
Only flown it 4-5 times last year before weather turned shit. It's very quick, much thinner profile than a Z2, glides forever. Also sounds beastly. Launching is typical pain in the arse with a big wing. I opt for throwing it power off and then powering on after a good straight throw. Problem is of course getting a repeatable good straight throw.
Secondly got some vibration issues with the RVOSD. So I think my plan of action is to get rid of the folding prop and to start using a bungee launch. Looking forward to getting the kinks ironed out and getting some good flying it. Hope to travel with it this year.
