Hi guys not been on here a while work and shitty weather haha. Had a bit of a impulse buy yesterday and picked up a Phantom 2 and Zenmuse package. What can i say other than HOLY SHEEEEET!!! These things are amazing lol. Ive had me F450 and Xpro Helli for about 10 months now. Ive loved flying them but because of the nature of upgrades and messing about i think i lost the love of flying due to worrying something was going to fail etc and changing payloads etc etc im sure we have all been there and crashed. But anyways genuinely...these Phantom 2 packages!!! WOW literally take it out of the box...screw the props on by hand 1 min job max...collab compass then up and your up in the air!! Was quite breezy today and im still gobsmacked at how well it handles lol. Im kinda taking a backstep on the whole bigger is better therory for now. I had plans to buy a s800 and fly a Sony Nx5 but after this Phantom and been looking at Rage cam lenses for the Go Pro im in 2 minds what to take to do my BUNC-S which i plan to do in a month or 2 lol...Do people actually do it on Phantoms lol?
Anyways more of a happy vent here but i suggest anyone on the bench has a look into the Phantom 2 like. Id skip the Phantom 1 after all the nightmare flyway stores tho lol
Nice one, seem like a great plug and play option, certainly had enough issues with my discovery pro so far that I'd probably choose the DJI option if I were shopping again.
Yea it really is a easy craft to get up in the air and get some amazing results lol Ive got a GLB gimbal and a custom made 1 on the Hellipro that cost £700....but in all honestly none of them come close to how smooth the Zenmuse gimbal is. I should have stopped being cheap and bought 1 in the first place ha

I'm very happy with my Phantom 1 and Zenmuse, thank you very much. And I don't have to fork out a fortune for extra batteries. :P

I am pretty sure Phantom 2 has the same Naza V2 as the Phantom v1.1.1, but you do get the joy of £108 battery - try not to drop it !!
Probably lol The batteries are a bit steep at £109 but...when you use them and see them in action its worth the extra. It really is a case of clip in and fly for 24 mins or ive got 18 mins with go pro and gimbal attached. Ive never owned a Phantom 1 and i might be just as happy but literally buying a P2 and flying out of the box in minutes with ultra smooth footage is a total revelation to me lol
I have built many quads in the past, and my last one was a naza lite controlled TBS Discovery. the naza lite failed in flight twice. the first time it was flying quite low, but fairly fast forward... the motors just stopped spinning and it ploughed straight into the ground. It only needed new arms and it was up again... I thought the fault was a dodgy battery connection, but when it happened a second time (exact same symptoms) whilst flying on the beach, it crashed a few metres off the waterline and ruined all the electronics.
Since then, I vowed never to use naza v1 or naza lite, so the Phantom 1 was a big no go... until they upgraded it to naza v2 (phantom 1.1.1).
I'm trying to find suppliers of the 1.1.1 as the phantom 2 is just too expensive, and the FC40 is controlled using 5.8GHz RC (in order to allow wifi connection with their FC40 camera).
I'd love a phantom 1.1.1

KLMS show v1.1.1 with free delivery - BYOD show 18 in stock - that was the first two on google.
Not clear if DJI are discontinuing the Phantom 1, but given the margin on the Phantom2 batteries is probably more than a whole Phantom1 I wouldn't be surprised.
I am shocked people are lapping up the Phantom2 I thought it was aimed at estate agents or non-RC people who don't know better, shows what I know ;)

Its always the way :)
I was the same, I had a TBS Disco and I too looked at the Phantom thinking "PAH! Look at that Poxy TOY!"..
It wasn't until I got to see how damn good the Zenmuse combo is I actually appreciated it is NOT a toy..
Anyone who scoffs at the Phantom/Zenmuse setup is just ignorant :)

The fly-away's can ALWAYS be attributed to pilot/setup error
Ask me how many times one of my Naza setups, or any of the setups I've built for other people have flown-away.. That's right NONE!

I think they're alright if all you want is a hovering tripod to shoot nice footage from a GoPro, nothing wrong with that. On the other hand they look about as much fun to fly as a kite with one string.
You are right :) its a budget camera-ship that offers amazing footage for the price.. Its no proximity machine! But its not meant for proximity its meant for video :D
Horses for courses :D..
Yeah, for a no fuss way to get up in the air they're ideal. I'd never want one but it's what I recommended to a friend who just wanted an expensive toy rather than a whole new hobby.
They fly just like any other nasa, you just have to take them out of "pussy" mode. ;D

I genuinely believe there is no other multi out there that is as good as the Phantom 2 and Zenmus combo when your limited to the weight of a go pro. Bold statement i know lol Just ease of use and setting up but more importantly results!! At my disposal i have a DJI F450 with all trimmings and also one of these http://xproheli.com/products/xp2-quadcopter (http://xproheli.com/products/xp2-quadcopter) which before gimbals where affordable was pretty much the best you could buy with a price tag to match!! Nearly 4K with batterys etc. The XP2 is a amazing quad but its heavy and i get 7 mins fully loaded with a 6400 battery. I always looked at the Phantoms as a toy and had no intention of getting 1 but im the fool after seeing footage of the Phantom Zenmus combo in use. Expensive i agree but not massivle when you consider i got the Phantom 2 with zenmus and a battery and all the bits for £630 isn. Thats everything spare props charger and even tools lol. Up in the air within 2 mins of opening the box lol

That looks to be flying ok for a Naza but has no FPV gear or GoPro attached, fully loaded they seem to fly pretty sedately.
