Has anyone experience of both the Carbon Core Cortex and the S 800 and can give any sort of comparison of the 2 and advantages / disadvantages of both and which they prefer??

Depends upon what you want them for....
Different machines for different jobs...
Really looking to use for both Photography and Video / Filming so a combination
Anybody else any comments / experience with them ????
MarkLincs, you say different machines for different jobs, which is better for what, and any idea which may be a better "all round" platform??
Probably looking to use whichever it is with a Nex 7 or a GH3.
Witterings,
I think the point Mark is making is why those two specifically? They're both "serious money" platforms and if you are going to spend that sort of money then have a damn good shop around - there's lots of choices. If it's just for an all round photography platform - you could go alot cheaper.
You only have to see the stuff Marcin pulls off with his homemade multi's and a Nex 5.
Gundummy,
I wouldn't know here to start in terms of going a lot cheaper and still building something that would be a quality platform for professional photography / videography.
I did drop Marcin an e-mail as I thought he built them for other people but alas not so it seems like I'm stuck with not many other alternatives ???
you normally build around payload. So I'd start with camera/lens combinations that you want to use (lenses get heavy quickly, if you buy quality stuff) and then decide on a platform, that carries that comfortably.

Literally finally decided camera this morning, GH3 with the Olympus F2 lens. I'm guessing it'll be Zenmuse Z15 gimbal as again I don't think there are a heap of other quality options on the market ????
Carbon core
Droidworks
DJI - (S800 - interesting that a lot of work was done to make it vibe free? LINK) (http://vimeo.com/64244084)
Cinestar
Cinewing
Gryphon Dynamics
SkyJib
Zerotech
I could go all day like this!! ;D
For me.. An expensive camera... expensive platform = expensive Flight controller with motor failsafe! Try Shikra on these forums - i think he flys the most expensive multis i have ever seen!
