Just finished off my replacement z-84.
A little overkill on this one. I have a UHF module in it!
Not really going to fly more than 1km with it, as it does not carry enough juice for long range. But the UHF means I can sit at 1m off the deck, and fly the length of the ripley runway at 100kph.
The wing wing z-84 is a superb little model. If balanced right, it has no bad habits.
Its not stupid aerobatic. Rolls, loops, bunts etc.. Nice big clean maneuvers to keep the speed up.
Looking forward to taking this one out in the next few days.

Looking forward to seeing how you put yours together if you are bringing it to MD6 Rob, mine is on it's 4 rebuild/config change. I don't want to bury the VTX as I'm worried it'll overheat, and my ESC is sat on the outside as well - there's just no space... well, not enough for me anyhow

yup, it has almost no room in the fuse for anything useful... I could barely fit the flight electronics and a 1300mah 3S in mine.
VTX out on wing and cam on nose is deffo the way to go if you want to FPV the wing wing.
I have opted for 1000mah packs. I could probably just squeeze in larger - maybe 1200mah.
Key for the VTX is to use a this one. The TS832 works well as it is so low profile.
I have essentially got the uhf right at the back, with the ESC and ATT convert for the tracker on top of it. The ESC and the RX are shielded with a thin foil/balsa sandwich.
In front of that lump, lying sideways and at 90 degrees to the floor of the cockpit is the Suppo OSD.
GPS for this is out on the wing to help balance out the VTX weight.
It all balances without any extra lead - so a result!
Flight times - circa 10 minutes on 50-60% throttle. 5 if I go all out!
1 metre at Wisley is only going to get you a quarter of the way down the runway Rob because you'll crash into one of the barriers across it. :P
