Been playing around with range on my JRXG7 in my Bixler. Got about 1km with standard setup. Up to 2.4km with a high gain antenna. So being excited my video was still good at that range with my home made helical (5.8g 200mw) I started looking at a cheap way to get more video range.
So got a 1w 2.4g video booster. Only managed to get one quick flight in but only got 800m before RTH kicked in. Was way surprised at how low the range was. It has a telemetry module on the RX which shows the RX voltage, standard with the RX. I noticed it wasn't working with the booster plugged in.
Maybe just not that compatible with the radio? Assuming not all 2.4g is the same.
think from here just need to look at UHF systems. Some reading to do there I think.
