Title: Calibrating Help!
Post by: chriswebber on April 22, 2014, 05:50:14 PM
Hi,

Wondering if anyone could help!

I have just built the Discovery Pro Quadcopter. Super lovely build but when it comes to the calibrating the Naza V2 and GPS I've come a bit stuck! I live in St. Ives, Cornwall so if there was anyone out there in this kinda area that can take a look and also be able to answer Q's I would be very grateful.Happy to pay for time as well - (I can understand not even batter bits are free anymore!) Also can make a day of it so I'd be willing to travel travel. Looked at my vids and tutorials - So many different set ups out there it's just to much info to take in at one time!

Look for forward to any reply and help as my head has started to hurt banging it against the wall... Cheers

Chris

What is it you are after Chris? I am in Camborne so not too far away... I'm not an expert by any means but have just finished an F550 build.

Cheers, Simon

Thanks Guys for your reply.... Need all the help I can get at the moment!

Ok here's what setup I have:-

TBS DISCOVERY PRO top & bottom plates- Long Range SET (2G4 Video, EzUHF RC)
Gimbal with motors and IMU
Naza V2
Integrated SimpleBGC Controller
TBS CORE & Camera Switcher integrated
4x Flamewheel F450 Arms (black)
DJI Naza LITE Flight Control + GPS
4x 900kV Motors
4x TBS BULLETPROOF 30A ESC
4x 9x5 Graupner E-Props
Short Servo Extensions
Futaba T8FG 8ch remote control
EzUHF Tx, 8ch Diversity Rx, all antenna upgrades
4S 3.3Ah TBS LiPo
Charger B6AC 80W
TBS 59 FPV Camera
Fatshark Dominator Video Glasses
Lawmate Stock transmitter and receiver
Required RCA female to female converter
TBS Groundstation LiPo 3S 5Ah
Battery connector and 2.5qmm silicon wire
Yagi - (more Range)
Tuned VRx and VTx

All built to the book but the problem is the Calibation of the Naza to the PC. I'm a Mac user and I was very surprised when downloading the Naza Software from DJI that they only use PC platforms!!! Nightmare - I've now got out a old PC from the loft and now downloaded the software from DJI- (which link did you use for the software?)
After downloading the software I hooked up everything, plugging in the naza into the PC via the USB port on the Naza LED unit (see wiring link - pdf )
When I move the joy sticks  in any direction there is no response on the DJI programme on the PC. Ok, so I thought to myself I'll changed the RX over from the Naza to the Futaba RX. But still no joy.  That's how far I've got at the moment. If you guys have any ideas feel free the JUMP IN!

Chris

The most obvious thing would be that the receivers aren't bound to the TX.
Second thing would be to check the wiring between RX and top pale and top plate and naza (polarity)
Third would be to check in the naza software, if the naza is set to ppm/s.bus instead of PWM.

^ I agree with Hase.

Although I do not have UHF it does sound more like the binding could be at issue.

There is a very good setup video from ThatHPIGuy on youtube which has almost exactly your setup, if you've not seen it already it's probably worth a look
