This is my attempt at a belter of a wing, something that I can get really fast and low with:

It's based on a combination of Flying Wings platforms. The wing itself is a Flying Wings Ninja (http://www.flyingwings.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=66_78), which is a combat slope soarer. The mounts and plates come from a Flying Wings Venturi (http://www.flyingwings.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=57_77). We chose the Ninja as it has the same size and CG as the Venturi but has a sleeker profile, so not as much lift at high speeds.
The power train is a JP EnerG 80A ESC and E-Flite Power 25 1250kv outrunner. They're spinning an 8x8 prop using two 3300Mah 4S Nano Techs.
As I did with my Falcon, I carved off the nose to blunt it off, which makes it much better for camera mounting options, which in this case I plan to use a Mobius for both onboard footage and flying through. That hasn't arrived yet, hence the surrogate weight on the nose, the AUW is 1.8Kg.
On the ground it's drawing 60A at full tilt, but as the prop will be stalling I don't know what that equates to in flight at full tilt.
A little breezy to maiden it ATM, hopefully we'll get some better weather later in the week and the Mobius should have arrived by then. I'm also using an OrangeRX OpenLRS RX on it at the moment, waiting on a delivery of DTF-UHF units but the kind of distance I'm covering with this I should be fine with the OrangeRX, I've managed well over my target distance with this using those.
A few things to do once it's maidened and I know the balance is good, such as finding a sleeker solution for the battery wiring. All in all though, I'm quite hopeful of some decent pace!

Yeah we definitely have to sort something out before we both travel again. I'm off for a week and a half probably after next weekend.
The problem is I only have three of the batteries this bird takes, and HK are out of stock. That gives me only one flight until I can order more I might check eBay in the meantime to even up the count.
Looks nice and solid, 6.6 amps of fun on board should be pretty good :)

Launching may be "interesting" though, with the combination of the thin wing (lower cl max) and high pitch prop, but defo would like to see this going!
With that v Bruceys Venturi and my speedster.... We definitely need to sort out some racing!

A real "oh crap" moment during the maiden this morning.
I'm recording and flying off the Mobius, seemed OK at the start and I was recording. It launched quite well and trimmed out nicely. Flies with a lovely glide slope but I need to work on the prop size as the OSD's telling me I'm only getting about 80Mph on the flat.
I landed it to check all was OK and flung it up again, but this time the Mobius card was full (I only put a 2GB in to test it) so I didn't hit record.
About 700 metres out and "poof" the screen goes black! Had to search the sky for the plane and somehow found this tiny little dot, managed to determine it's direction and gradually bring it back home. No harm done except a new pair of pants required.
I've checked the Mobius config and sure enough "Auto Standby" was set to 2 minutes. What a doughnut!

Other than standby how did you find the mobius for flying? Which mode and lens are you using?

I've got the standard lens and flew it recording 1080p "narrow" and video out on 4:3. It's definitely not a WDR 600TVL! The latency isn't noticeable but the frame rate seems much lower and the image is a bit dark and pixelated.
It's probably borderline for me as to whether I'll add a board cam, first I'm going to try it on 720p then without recording altogether to see what happens to the video out quality, if I can't improve the image quality I'll fit a board cam.
Brucey and I were trying to fly proximity this afternoon and I could make him out some of the time and other times when the scenery was busy I'd lose him. His plane is a bit stealthy though.

Yes, I've got mSetup which is how I changed the auto shutdown settings. The problem is other than aspect ratio and TV standard, there aren't any settings specific to the video output for levels. So you have to change the levels of the onboard footage to get a decent output level for the video out. I know you can change the brightness in the goggles but having a little higher levels on the signal coming out of the camera helps a lot with signal to noise ratios.
I've set my brightness now on the advanced image setting to 25 which seems like a good compromise. I was quite happy with the contrast levels as they were so didn't mess with those.
This now gives a decent output level in the video out:
