Got my SkyMule on Monday and got all the r/c gear in for the maiden which was yesterday, the plane is a cracker and took off nicely, a bit of a trim then a few gentle circuits and a gentle landing , fine so far! opened up the throttle and all hell breaks loose , the port motor and pod broke loose and before I got it shut down the prop tore across ripped open the side of the fus' charged over the top of the wing and broke the starboard prop. a nice aircraft messed up because some lazy stupid sod didn't put enough glue on the thing. AAAAARG!!!.
Nw trying to send photos the H/K to try and get some sense out of them .
So if you buy one of these planes just make sure and epoxy or hot glue the motor cowlings on before you run it .
This is in my opinion a good plane as long as you check the glue joints
Cheers MIKE.
Oh No!
Chinese QC strikes again!
Ouch mate that sucks!
I hate it when an airframe is ruined!
oooh, gutted!!
one of the main reasons I tend to only ever buy these models in kit form.
feel for you mate.
And me Chris, just not worth trusting the old chinky workmanship
it's cos they're so small, they cant see the top of the bench!
seriously though, sorry to hear that.
It is always worse when the damage is not your own dumb fault...
Ouch sorry to hear - am I the only one that thinks having the motor mounts glued on on a puller is a bad idea?
.... note to oneself... add even more glue to the gluey mess that makes up a glued motor cowling......
Thanks for the "Condolences " fellas , I think I may just fix it up and not go through the hasle with H/K.
I won't have it for ages otherwise.
Cheers MIKE. ;D

I don't think I've ever seen another way to fix a motor on the front whether IC or electric. Former F1 is usually glued to the fuselage before bolting in a motor and mount.
Shouldn't it sort of hook around the rear of a firewall or something so that it becomes a physical connection rather then just adhesive.

My motors "bolt" to the motor mounts which is then embedded into the foam via slots - i'm 99.9% sure that mine arn't going anywhere!!! really suprised these came away?
GD
There was no fault in the design guys , just a lack of glue :+ otherwise it's a cracking plane ;D
I have sorted mine out now and hope to fly it this week , then when I'm happy with the trim I will fit my F.P.V gear on it.
B.T.W it's amazing what you can cover up with stickers
Cheers MIKE. :)
Was great to find this little thread, have been hovering over the buy it button for the Skymule. Looks like a great plane, much room inside, what battery/flight times do you get ?
