Went to the model shop to get some 2 mm balsa so I can build a new 3 meter wing for my twin boom and picked this up for 15 quid! (18 euros) 😊
Ditched that pathetic brushed 400 motor and that little prop ( probably for a boat or something ) , stuck my 700KV with a 9 x 5 prop I had laying around. Single 4s 5000mah and test flight at 6 tomorrow morning.
Let's see what happens.

Lola 😀
Cute, whats it called?
It's the first easystar from multiplex. Wingspan is 1370mm.
Got to the field at 6:30 this morning with a mate, was really windy. Does a 50 degree climb and then just throttle back and go through the maiden flight tests. I will cut the ailerons in today and put the ArduPilot in there as well for some testing.
Gonna knock up some dipoles for the Rx and Tx because those original antennas are pony and trap.
Lola😀
If it's an EasyStar and you picked it up for 15 quid, you got a total bargain.

Just cutting in the ailerons now.
The bloke at the model shop has reduced all the prices on the RC gear because everyone buys online. 😊
Lola😀
Oh i thought it was a small clone of something as it was so cheap!
I had a few Easystars! Very good to fly!

They are all the same aren't they? AXN, Easystar, Bixler? Probably just my eyes but they so seem similar.
Stuck the vTx on the back near the tail which balances the plane out better and have just finished the ailerons. Charging up a pack and then going to have a test fly.
Lola 😀
They all look similar but in my experience Multiplex know how to make things that actually fly properly instead of just looking about right.

I did find it went together well, the tail and wings all join up nicely, nothing is off center and there is just enough room to squeeze my 4S 5000 lipo in there! vTx is mounted by the rudder and that balances the plane out nicely.
AUW is 1364 grams, in our money that's 3.007 lbs.
I'm running my 700KV from AMAX and she climbed a 50 degree angle no probs on a 9x5 prop, so I'm pleased.
I'm off to test the ailerons soon on a fully charged pack so I'll set the timer and see how long I can cruise for.
Lola 😉
bargain! enjoy.
Cut off the wing tips so the span is now 128cm and the ailerons now work a treat. With the wing tips I hardly had any roll. Now it turns on a ten pence piece 😀

Didn't think of that, still I could use you're trick and stick them back on inserting a small CF rod for extra strength at the same time!
That's a good size battery to squeeze in there. What are your flying flight times like

Just got back from the field, only went to test the ailerons but the weather was soooo good I just flew for 45 mins on half throttle, battery pack is measuring 15.5 volts.
Awesome, thats an absolute steal for £15!
Where is this model shop then? :P

Steglitz, in Berlin 😀
Well after last summers crash and the hot water trick tip from you lot I've decided to repair it.
Arse end is fixed, the front is straight and now I'm going to fill in the holes.
