Just putting the finishing touches to my FPV WOT4 and bound my new R800x with my DX8 with no problems.
Then i tried to set the failsafe and can only get the throttle position to "save". None of the other channels go to the position they were at when i bound...
The specs state that ALL channels are supported so i must be doing something wrong... Does anyone have any ideas?

You need to take the bind plug out before switching on the tx right?

Exactly.. The reason I discounted this, as that when you take the plug out, the RX starts to respond to the controls, so I assumed it was out of bind mode.
But it seems you bind withe plug in (fast flashing LED), and then set the failsafe with the plug out (Slower flashing LED).

Not quite - for failsafe on all channels (as opposed to failsafe on throttle, hold on other channels which is default bind) correct procedure is exactly as TJ said above:
Power up receiver with bind plug in (fast flashing)
immediately unplug bind plug (slower flashing) before you power up transmitter
only then power up/bind transmitter with all channels in your preferred failsafe positions
lastly power cycle everything and test (with props off) to confirm it works as intended.
Doing anything else may or may not work, but this is the correct procedure, same as Spektrum manuals explain (even though this is an OrangeRX).
