Title: Lipo for F550
Post by: helimadness on August 24, 2014, 04:01:29 PM
Hi All.

Have built a clone F550 with the following setup.
Naze32 Full
2212 / 930kv motors
10x4.5 props. (also have some 10x4.7 but not used as yet)
Have retractable landing gear and Basic FPV kit. 1500g without lipos.
Currently using 2x2000 mah in parallel so 4000 mah. They are old and dead. Hit Low voltage cutoff with 40% left in the pack today. So voltage obviously dropping under load.

I really noticed the extra weight increase of the retractable landing gear and FPV kit recently put on it. Maybe just the lipos. Need to get new ones. I am also nearly finished building a camera gimbal that will weigh about 500g when finished. So will be around 2000g with out lipos. So maybe 2400-2500g all up weight when finished. Is this heavy for a F550 camera rig?

So am I better to go 4s or stick with 3s? Was getting worried about not having enough power to carry the weight on 3s. Also what sort of MAH are people using and what sort of flight times are you getting?

Do I need to go different props if I go 4s?

Cheers
