Title: FPV Dangers....
Post by: Gundummy on August 30, 2014, 01:57:14 PM
Excuse the dull american drone but it carries some good points to be fair....

excuse some scenes - language etc!

He had some good examples, but then so facepalm comments added to his reasoning

i watched this last week... he has some good points, but then he just stops mid flow. doesn't go on to explain how the hobby could be done safely. There was no balanced argument there.

I was quite enjoying that until he 'got his dick out' at the end..

He started making good points about the dangers, but where was the conclusion - the "how we fix this", it just stopped rather abruptly.  Shame that, bit dull if you can just point out all the issues without any ideas of what can be done.

I think the conclusion was - Armalite rifles kill more people than FPV pilots?

He's a bit of an idiot. Any civilian who owns an assault rrifle is an idiot imo.

He also weakens his own argument at the end.......In some ways it could almost be a pro drone need video.

drones are bad

drones hurt people

you can be an idiot and buy a drone and use it recklessly.

Don't use the "dislike the irresponsible users not the machine" argument like us gun fans- they are not in the same league of danger or coolness.

**********

the alternative view would be to respond to his final point with "exactly! And if they aren't as dangerous, why on earth should they be banned?"

i think there may have been no need for a conclusion as he pointed out in the first couple of minutes where he felt people were going wrong. I still maintain that flying aircraft should come with a simple crib sheet about do's and dont's based on CAA/FAA advice for that area.

I think he was wrong to pick on a flight gathering however as the chances of failure/crash are exponentially increased with that many pilots around, and many pilots already know that and presumably accept the risk.

It was all starting to make me depressed until he flopped out his schlong on his lap, cocked it and brandished it for all to see, then i laughed. Shame really, it could have been a better video, or perhaps the last bit was simply meant to be ironic.

Point seemed to be that FPVers were lame geeks cos they didnt have a big gun.

What sort of fellow would not feel complete unless he had a big gun like that anyway...?

i'm with krikey, should be a note of regs, and maybe usefull websites with every model/kit. i think his gun is to make up for a small dick tbh. though the early part makes a good point about doing it wrong.

The video is aimed at the USA market. The point being that despite multiple gun related deaths, multiple killings at schools where full automatic weapons where used, there has been no political action to control guns. It's the second amendment "the right to bare arms"   However the FAA has exercised  its power to propose the end of FPV and the sale of associated equipment.
