Title: Vibration reduction
Post by: sheep600fx on August 12, 2011, 01:47:19 PM
Like most I guess vibration has played a part in setup of your system at some point, Using a RVOSD it is very important to keep vibration as low as possible and for keycams vibration plays a big part in ruining good footage, I recently bought some of this stuff http://tinyurl.com/3tvss7f (http://tinyurl.com/3tvss7f)
It has reduced the vibrations on my rvosd massively and I intend to sit my keycam on top of some as well, It has the texture of jelly, Can be re used by washing and seems to stick to uhu por ok.

Acrylic foam tape is also very good.
It's like a clear white gel and comes in doublesided strips. Great for sticking servos etc. too.

I use velcro too, those pads are supposed to be good though. Not sure how well they stick to foam though

+1 for velcro but I also balance my props by adding bits of fiber tape until vibs are gone. :D

Another +1 for velcro, works a treat. Plus you can easily remove your keycam for downloading footage.

I noticed that the Gyro on my Raptor is set on a soft foam that absorbs all the vibrations allowing the gyro to work better.

My little keycam suffers terribly from harmonic vibration and it's attached with velcro... looks quite trippy, but ruins the ambience.  Only happens on the SW though, not the barge.  Props balanced, everything.  I was thinking of sticking some sound deadening material (DynaMat) inside the body of the plane itself to reduce the actual plane humming.

I recently was installing the FY31AP and noted the red vibration light was coming on at places in the rev range, as the prop was balanced, so it must have been the motor did a search and found this, amazingly it works a treat !
