I think these are pretty cool goggles.
Quick specs : Built in DVR / 32 deg FOV / Bright.
Does anybody know when the 2.4 receiver module will be available...?
Bugger that, just ordered 1.3

I just got my laserbgc module. Only done a test in the house and it worked great. Waiting on the weather for a proper test though!
one think I might add though they don't like the stock rubber duckies that come with a lot of 1.2 gear but use good quality skews and you will be amazed...

This is the one Simon http://laserbgc.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=67&product_id=75 (http://laserbgc.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=67&product_id=75)
Guys last night after ordering my 1.3 from Laser I was informed by someone on this forum that the Dom HD's and the V2's are NOT compatible with 1.3. He gave me a link to FPVLAB where Fatshark themselves say that an IC aboard these goggles for the DVR causes major noise, thus cutting down the sensitivity, thus making them practically unusable past 100m or so.
Please tell me this is bullshit. I'm getting conflicting reports...
A good report is this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5fl_HVwcS4 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5fl_HVwcS4)
The bad news is this thread - post number 80 http://fpvlab.com/forums/showthread.php?35421-Fatsharks-new-product-update-thread.....-HD-s/page8 (http://fpvlab.com/forums/showthread.php?35421-Fatsharks-new-product-update-thread.....-HD-s/page8)

Good news and bad news with the 1G3 modules. The good news is we've finally been able to bench test the sensitivity (took awhile to get parts to build a screened box for 1G3). The results were very promising but that didn't correlate to our flight testing (short range on flight testing - very early to snow). The bad news is I found out why; the DVR in the DOMV2 and DOMHD (which we did all the flight testing on) drastically kills the sensitivity. When placed in the DOMV1 it works fine. More testing to continue but we're going ahead with a beta run. It just likely won't work well with the new headsets since the DVR IC is always powered.
So... what's the actual thruth you reckon?
rich there referring to the actual fatshark 1.3 module not laser I repeat not laser
the module from fatshark will be launched in a couple more months from my source Patrick over there from all accounts upto the last update it will only work with older version of the doms and NOT the newer doms v2/domds hd now that may change but upto presss that's how it stands ..
Wait... so FatShark bring out a 1.2 module for their own goggles, and it screws the DVR up, but a 3rd party module works (?)
I think FatShark need to do a bit more engineering on this... surely

Sweet Mark, thanks for that!!! I did also order an 8 channel digital receiver for 1.2/3 co's let's face it, goggles module or no module, one does want to go farther with a plane :) I'm just totally excited to be getting 1.3 on my face with no additionals for penetration at least. Shit if I had this in the Kruger National Park my vids would have looked slightly different...
yeah wayne. was only noticed by greg when he did field tests the dvr screws the range up thing is to make it work you would have to disable the dvr power altogether to get it to work perfect(kind of goes against the dvr addon for me lol)
no worries Richard if you still want range and wire free grab one of these Ive been to 10km with mine

Have you guys heard about this firmware that is said to improve the DVR recording quality on the V2's...? http://fatshark.helpscoutdocs.com/article/107-10611071domv2-domhd-dvr-fw (http://fatshark.helpscoutdocs.com/article/107-10611071domv2-domhd-dvr-fw)
My question about this is, in the manual it says that PAL / NTSC are auto selected, yet instructions for this firmware suggests that you must choose one or the other?
Any ideas on whether to do this fw, and whether I'm right in saying it's one or the other?
tbh Richard from all the past reading ive done the guys over in the us have upgraded there dvr firmware. But all I did when mine arrived from www.firstpersonview.co.uk (http://www.firstpersonview.co.uk) was I formatted the sd card in the dvr then was good to go..
Mark, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you did a short video with the 1.3 module didn't you?
I'm not expecting the range from the receivers in my ground station, but it will be so nice convenience wise!
laser bgc vrx (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5fl_HVwcS4#)
dominator v2 raw testing fpvlr antenna (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzhJ_YykteM#)
doms v2 dvr test testing 2x different rxs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqG3ahritfk#)
various tests etc im a geek lol
Haha, wow, you did a few then!
that's just a selection lol
Ah Mark, so you're the guy who's been helping me on YT :) Thanks!

No the 2.4g module from immersion
Mark, quick question. Which 1.3 frequency do you find works best bearing in mind we are both affected by that stupid radar station north of Liverpool (can't remember it's name now). I think it transmits at 1250-1350 so I'm tempted by 1360 but I know the antennas are not centred on that.

ive been using 1360 recently to get me clear of the radar too only to stop the white lines works good .
Cool, thanks Mark. I'll give all channels a go, but I was thinking that channel may be best.
I have only just received my 1.3 module so I don't know how it is affected by uhf, but I will be using the two together so I'll report back. I'm using extreme hopping too.
I had been using uhf with my normal 1.3 receivers and they has no issues with it.
nice one matey, keep us posted on how you get on just need this weather to calm down abit
Yeah the weather has been terrible. Last Sunday was interesting flying in frozen fog! I couldn't see a damn thing through the fog so had to fly los.
