Post by: tone on September 05, 2011, 12:31:40 PM
Hello all.

I'm a complete newbie to RC planes so have had to learn from the ground up. My only other experience with RC is a quadcopter built around the Arducopter platform.

My build will consist of:

SkySurfer V2 KIT
Turnigy 9X TX
5C Charge Loong max Tipple Lipo Battery 2300 3S1P 20C-30C
E-Power 8.5g Micro Servo x 4
2212-06 28A 2200KV SP Brushless Outrunner Motor
Futuba Y-Lead 10cm
15CM Futaba Twisted Servo Extension Lead x 2
HobbyWing Pentium Brushless Motor 30amp esc speed controller
6x4E TGS Sport Propeller
Velcro for Lipo
Control Horns 16x20mm x 4
XT60 Battery connectors x 4
JP THREAD LOCKER Z-42 (LOCK) (BLUE) 0.2oz 6ml
Gorilla Glue Fast Cure White 60ml
30 Minute Epoxy (Foam Safe) Glue UK
3M Crossweave tape 50MM X 50M Roll
3M Command Mini Hooks & Strips
3.0 mm x 1.5m Carbon Tube
4.0mm x 1m Carbon Tube

I haven't looked too much into the FPV side of things yet. Still reading up and taking notes! Shall update post with pics along the way.

Thanks :)

Cool Tone, welcome aboard the fun bus! :D

I wouldnt think too much about the FPV side of things right now, get your skysurfer flying and get comfortable flying it line of sight first.

Have fun!

Steve

that's Good advice, I agree with Steve.
you could always put a small Key ring camera on it, and start getting used to the area you fly in from an Ariel view.
Good Luke  :) G

+1, get LOS skills in place before trying FPV, but good choice on the plane :)
