Title: Can anyone identify this radio please?
Post by: Flyboysee on October 02, 2011, 02:26:50 PM
Hello Aviators!

Since I also want to get into some scale flying I'm bidding on this bad boy - it's a Flair Magnatila IC. The guy's not mentioned the radio - can anyone identify the make / model / band? The seller is not answering and I've little time left on the auction.

Would love your thoughts!

Hoping the radio will be good for my EZ and later FPV...

Even if one of us did recognise the set that wouldn't necessarily tell us how many channels, what band or what other facilities it had. Try the seller again.

Cool :) I was bound to make some mistakes... though I got the lot for 70 squids. Evidently it's a good semi scale plane with new 40 motor and servos. While I'm far off fpv I'm hoping the radio will be a bit better than the zebra...?

He is contractually obliged to accept the highest bid and cannot legally back out or impose conditions post close of auction. If he had wanted a minimum price he should have put a reserve on it, which the auction page would have flagged up. If he is not happy with the price, tough. He has to bite the bullet and accept the bidding.

Early days on Ebay I had a guy inform me that after winning he didn't want the item. I contacted other people he had bought from and discovered a pattern of bidding and then either refusing to pay or getting quite abusive if sellers wanted paid before sending. Three of us (the minimum required) flagged up sellers alerts with Ebay and had him barred from the site. What a bloody time waster he was. Most people are straight and honest but there are always a few exceptions.

I think you simply need to be polite but firm.

Thanks G and Electro. Human nature, what can I say. If Thursday comes, I'll be checking for the new Irvine 40 and servo's he mentioned... :) Sure it will be okay. Once I've mastered this plane I'll definitely shoot some video on it. Strange, there's very little FPV on IC craft. Seems odd because of good flying times on a decent tank, as well as big lifting capacity and more stable av and tx electronics without a high revving brushless to steal power and cause possible interference. I suppose it will be less stealthy so short range only yeah?

Maybe something to do with vibration?

to bee honest I used to fly glow engine I still have one which I will give a blast when I go back to Cornwall and found it a bit messy, you get a lot of oily slim all over the fuselage, if it gos on your lens in flight it will blur your image, + you get a lot of vibration from a glow engine, and the noise in certain places restricts your flying, not all people appreciate the sound of a screaming 40 in the air.

Very interesting G Collins and Rotor! I see the point. Noise? Oil? Smell? I'm in - perhaps not the neighbours of course.
