After pulling the plug on my first FPV gear late in the summer, I've spent the last few months hammering my PayPal account. My aim was to have an FPV plane, wing and quad to enjoy in the summer. I have little time to fly the things with a lot going on in my life so I've done the building in the evenings but haven't flown as much as I'd like.
Anyway, here are my Bix3, Raven, and Lumenier QAV250 CF. All are on 5.8 and the Bix and Raven have Cyclops Storm and Breeze.
The biggest issue I have is reliability. On the few occasions I actually get out to try and fly something either fails, I make an error or forget something so I'm lacking consolidation! Anyway hopefully the lighter evenings and better weather will help.

nice one matt. You're not alone with your mixed success lol... even those who've been doing it for years have mixed results on the day.
Your Raven looks proper tidy, after I crashed my wing I'm in the market for a new one.
Wings are great for just being able to whack a few LiPos on charge, grab your goggles and tx and off you go. :)

Yeah the raven is fun although it's not quite dialled in just yet. The most recent addition is the quad and I'm still getting used to it. At least I can fly that tentatively around the garden!
I'm still very much in the 'all the gear, no idea' camp at the moment though and really need more practice in FPV mode.

They look canny Matt. Reliability is the key, without reliability your going to get little success and enjoyment. Once you get them reliable it's great, and a weight lifted so you can buoy flying a lot more.
what's the issue with the raven? what's not dialled in about it?

Thanks fellas. The reliability is partly due to me forgetting and also the ambiguities of this bonkers Chinese technology. I've got the fr632 diversity reciever which works brilliantly, except the rca video out is through the red cable - have you any idea how long it took to figure that out?! Also got a 10mw transmitter as a relay to my goggles and monitor (all the gear...) but it runs really hot and drains the GS battery - again took me a while to figure that out!!
The raven issue is the control rod and servo horn attachment. They keep slipping and leaving me seriously out of trim ship to bring home! Think I've got it sorted now but need to fly it again. It's a good fun little wing though although I probably need to decrease the rates for FPV...

And another thing; dip switches. They are hard enough to figure out but even worse when the instructions are wrong!
