Sounds great!

What power system are you using now?

I used to get similar weirdness of warble with my Speedster on 6S with my 80A Turnigy ESC. I reckon the ESC isnt quick enough processor to keep up with 40,000 rpm or maybe keeps getting current overload? Need an ESC that has finely adjustable timing I reckon...

Maybe try asking some high speed experts?

Anyway Looking good !

Thanks Andy.

The motor is one of these http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__39829__Dr_Mad_Thrust_Series_Motor_B2970_2600kv_for_70mm_EDF_6S.html (http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__39829__Dr_Mad_Thrust_Series_Motor_B2970_2600kv_for_70mm_EDF_6S.html) with a 100amp esc (really need a 200amp I think)

See, I thought about the timing thing, but it spins to full rpm without the prop, so it must be the load causing the problem. That was with a 6.5x6.5 prop, next time I'll try a 5.5x5.5 prop, see if that helps at all.

Thanks Andy.

Yeah but I'm pretty sure that the load causes a change in timing, since its the current through the motor that is used to detect its going round and where it is as its going round and the lag may well change with current. (The alterative is to get a sensored motor which uses actual sensors to detect where it is and so ignores current, and you use a sensored ESC but then your choice of motor narrows).

have you tried different timing settings on the ESC? May well be medium would work better than high for example..

Also higher rated ESC will have more lag be harder to get goinf gast since the mosfets take longer to turn on for technical reasons (gate capacitance).. Another way of saying there is no such thing as a free lunch.

What you really need is someone who has flown Electric pylon or something like that to gt advice from..

Alternatively this might be useful..

The settings could be tuned much better than on most commercial ones .. e.g even in flight.. to find that sweet spot  :)

Ok, interesting. This ESC has lots of timing settings, each one given as a degree measurement. I'll have to do some reading!
