We pre-ordered it last week, since then it has gone out of stock so I honestly have no idea when it will turn up.
Could someone explain what these are, exactly? I've seen that you can them as a transmitter for a Futaba by plugging them into the trainer port, but where does the "diversity" element come into it? That's about choosing the better of two signals, isn't it?

Hi Keith the reciever diversity that is mentioned is actually two recievers in one case it compares the two signals and outputs from them with hopefully the correct signals to your servos's Hence the two connections for two antenna

Cheers, Dizzy. So say I plug this into the back of my Futaba. Do both this unit and the Futaba then transmit a signal - the Futaba on 2.4ghz, and this on UHF - and then the receiver uses whichever signal is the strongest?

One signal transmitted by this unit that sticks on the back of your Tx. You have two antennas in different places on the plane and the idea is that it picks the signal from whatever antenna with the best reception. It doesn't use the 2.4GHz signal at all.

Thanks, Sheldon. It's starting to drop into place now. I guess you could have one antenna mounted vertically and one mounted horizontally, and then you wouldn't run into problems if you were running a linearly polarized antenna on the transmitter.
I've seen a few set-ups like this one (http://screencast.com/t/hSUKuMux). That guy is using a Scherrer which I believe is similar to the Chainlink. I'm guessing that one of those is a patch antenna. Would that be right? How would that connect to his transmitter? Would he just run a cable from it?

I would imagine those patch antennas are for receiving his video signal.
I guess the polarization thing makes sense, but I don't really know. Ask in the shoutbox and there will be people who are far more knowledgeable than me on that subject. If you can, try and collar Coyote, he knows everything :)
