Title: Finaly getting the Hang of Interception
Post by: BigT on June 06, 2015, 07:12:13 PM
After lots and lots of tries we finally managed a classic fighter intercept over Bedfordshire!  Filmed from the MTD with a Mobius V3 B lens and recorded from the chase plane via a download to a cheap DVR. Camera on the chase plane is a Seawolf Pixem.  The AP on the chase plane is a FY41 Heavy.

Great club site we have. Only stipulation for guests is A test for solo flight, under 84 db and insurance.

84 db @ 7 meters. No problem for leccy power. Even my 30% CAP 262 Zenoah 61 does it.

Nice, tell me I'm not the only one imagining the sound of the machine gun as the front plane enters the the centre zone

I am going to have a go at flying around behind my mate tonight both flying wing wings(if his Mrs will let him out to play......), done it with quads plenty but they tend to look like a small dot in the resultant footage unless you are nearly touching, so hoping the wings will be better  :)
Just out of interest could you tell us what 'cheap DVR' as the footage is pretty good and I want to get something to capture OSD footage with from my goggles output?

It's the hobby king one from Europe with a class 10 card recording through fatshark attitudes. OSD is the mfd AP

Thanks BigT, I'm using attitudes so good to know it comes out fine from them, I have an easycap and that's hopeless...

Yes mine was as well. Slightest glitch and it stopped recording. The class 10 cards from Amazon, 32gb Sandisk.  I think the camera makes a huge difference. It's been in several very heavy crashes and the alloy case has protected it well. So good we bought another. It's very good in low light as well.
