Title: My first FPV video but too much noise
Post by: scalematt on June 10, 2015, 09:53:18 PM
This is my first video so be gentle with me  :-[ Im a newbie pilot as well.

This is a DVR footage showing all the Interference problems im getting on my mini quad using a boscam 200mw vtx and skew to skew antenna's.

Pretty bad isn't it.  :(

It looked like you had some ESC interference to begin with, but for the most part that looked ok.  That tick tick rhythmic noise made me think it was some external interference in some parts.  Have you tried other locations as well ?

When I sent you a link for an intro video, you weren't supposed to use the same sort ! :)

Haha curry, im like a sheep, i just follow everyone else.  :P

Image looks worse in my goggles than the dvr footage. Def get more picture wobbling when i increase throttle.

One of your problems I think is shielding from your car ..if you look at the footage where the car is between you and the quad , you are getting more break up...So position yourself further away from the car and any ther screening objects ...G+hedges in full leaf at this time of year will kill signals very effectively!

Matt.....Try using a screened lead from your Camera to your vtx....and if possible put some distance between your camera and vtx...Screened lead is metal braided, and you can use the braid to pass the negative, (ground) through it..ie camera supply...A metal cased Camera also helps, unlike plastic they sheild noise emitted from Cameras..... :vulture:

I fitted one of these:

Really cleaned up my video, from ESC noise especially when running 4S lipos

Just solder it in between the power board and the VTX (assuming the VTX powers the camera as well).

I am using the same quad as you and the same Vtx as you, my picture is VERY clear, definitely something not right here. I have fitted an LC filter to mine, a home made job that takes a few mins to put together and cost pennies. Here is a link Coyote's thread that i used to make one:

I have one of these on all 3 of my FPV flying machines  :D
