Hi there just wanted to ask some flyers of there opinion on the x8 regarding flying it easy or hard? Im currently looking at one that is for sale but not sure? so any help would be gratefull.
thanks trevor
Very easy IMHO The only issue , if you fly it very very slowly with a flight stabilisation system when it stalls ...you really have to push it to achieve this, you risk a spin...turn of the stabilisation ad you are back in control.
I fly my X8 with 4 cells and have great flights.

They can be quite a bugger to launch if you're flying alone. I'd watch some videos first.
Coyote has a great build thread on here.
They are huge and not easy to launch alone.
Also they are in no way aerobatic even high speed dives can break them apart. They have a huge following however for good reason I'm sure.
Not sure why folk have problem launching ..I always manage to launch single handed ..no problems, Vector in 2D keeps everything on the level...as for quality of build etc ..mine I would rate as extremely robust...maybe there is more than one sort or X8 out there?

I like mine a lot. Flew it a year now without any problem. I am now in the process of upgrading the X8 from FY31 to a MFD AP with air speed sensor. I don't want to think about wind anymore to figure out what the real airspeed is. I don't do hand launches though since the ships weights 4kg's.
I like the X8 for the room inside. It does get knocked about in the wind due to its shape. It does tip stall easily once you get your speed down so don't fly it too slow.
For my efficient flying there was just no power to hand launch with great success so I went for a bungee launch. With a less efficient setup though hand launching was fine.
I ended up scrapping it though because for its huge size I could go just as far on another frame that I could hand launch.
The nose was very weak too and can not take any abuse.
I still enjoy flying mine. I find it easy to launch and control. Make sure the CofG is not too far back and keep the speed up and it is a pussy cat. Loads of room and very efficient. It floats on and on when landing so make sure you have plenty of room. Yes the nose is weak but it is dead easy to mend with UHU por or Gorilla glue.
