Title: FPVUK Insurance Renewal
Post by: FPVSteve on August 01, 2015, 11:37:30 PM
FPVUK insurance is due for renewal*, this is just a friendly reminder as I didn't get a renewal notice via e-mail so I'm assuming noone else did either?

http://www.fpvuk.org/store/ (http://www.fpvuk.org/store/)

*other insurances are also available

Hi Steve,

I've not had the reminder email either.... doh
On the insurance page it say...

'At the end of July we will send you an email to make you aware that your membership is about to expire and inviting you to join for another year'

but no reminder received here ?

PK  :)

Does this add anything over and above BMFA insurance ?
Not read through both policies just wondering if anyone had a quick comparison  :)

I think BMFA insurance includes woodworm and dry rot cover for your models.

Even if my models were made of wood, I doubt they'd last long enough for that to be a problem if I'm honest!

Thanks for posting this, as it hadn't even crossed my mind without receiving a reminder. Sorted now, it does however mean that this morning I was a reckless uninsured FPVer  :o

Although I have renewed mine, I think its worthless as the insurance will worm out of any claim after looking at my kit anyway. :0/

Didn't you get the reminder email wgt40w?

Most members have renewed now I believe.  Perhaps I should send a second reminder to those who still haven't at the end of August?

I'm also looking into a way of having it auto-renew next year.

Thanks everyone

Simon

No Simon, I did not receive a reminder email. I have checked my online email Junk  & Spam folders and nothing trapped there. My email addresses are unchanged.

You were sent a reminder Adam.  The email you entered on FPV UK ends @gmail.com rather than the @googlemail.com used here.  Does that also work?

Sorry Tim.  For some reason you weren't in the mailshot list.  You were last year.

I'll look into this and work out why you were missed.

You were definitely on the list Steve.  The email address starts with the name of the association and then your domain name after the @

Mailchimp does confirm that you didn't open the email.

You were on the list Martin.  @hotmail.com Is that right?   (It's not the same as the email address you use on here).

MailChimp also shows you didn't open the email (In other words, it looks like it didn't get through for some reason)

Simon,

@hotmail.com - Yes, but I cannot see a mail arriving.

Funny thing though, about one month ago I changed my email address in my 'Profile' (I have a number of email addresses). Does a change of email address in Profile get 'picked up' wherever the Insurance thing gets its' email addresses from ??

Simon,

Just checked more thoroughly - the @hotmail.com address comes from my 'Shop' log in - this email is still current. Changing my Forum Profile email address is I see completely separate.

That's really bizarre Simon ... you're right, I did receive it on August 1st. But it's not appearing in my Inbox, it went straight to Deleted Items .. I've not got any rules set up at all for that to happen either.  I had to specifically search for [email protected] for it to find it.

In any case, it has definitely arrived but I never saw it come in .. weird. Oh well!!

Both address work.  It may be wondering around cyber space.  Will have another look though my folders just to see ;-)

Having read what Steve has said, I've re-checked my @hotmail.com Outlook Mail (used to be Windows Live), looking in the Deleted Folder and Yes - I also received the Renewal mail on August 1st and it went straight into the Deleted Folder. I was away for a week, including Aug 1st, without any internet connection, so I know I didn't delete the message.
Definitely ..... weird - as Steve says !!

It might be worth checking your SPF record to ensure that mailchimp can reliably send mail from fpvuk.org on your behalf. I know that microsoft mail servers tend to be quite hot on valid DKIM and SPF records.
