The item was posted yesterday. I will freely admit to being defensive but the following quote is NOT based on evidence or indeed any proper knowledge of occurences in the real world.
"After talking to them, from what I see from the extensive damage, and the fact that there are no feathers or blood to indicate a bird strike, it had to be a drone."
What do I mean by "occurences in the real world"? Every month the CAA publishes occurence reports. You would be surprised or indeed horrified, at how many of these relate to things which fall off aircraft, either parts of the aircraft or blocks of ice, and crash through conservatory roofs or land in gardens. I'm not ruling out a drone strike but to assume such is pure speculation and smacks of an anti-drone agenda, Mr Guillaume Maillet, chief pilot of L.A. Helicopters. Poor show for an aviation professional.
Nothing can really be ruled out, but I dismay at a world that decides how something *must* be responsible because they can't think of anything else it could be.
Science and evidence please, not faith and beliefs.... which is that same line I tend to use on God-botherers
Well, if this was a 'drone' some of it would have surely ended up INSIDE the helicopter, I can't imagine all of it would have rebounded away without leaving anything behind...or indeed IN the helicopter.
In the absence of mangled plastic, a KK board and propellers, it simply had to be a bird strike.
See what I did there?

^^^^ LOLz
Back in the 1960's and 70's it would definitely have been a UFO what done it !
Funny that nobody has considered the possibility that someone took a pot shot at the heli?
A glacing blow from a rifle bullet fired from a very long range could break the glass - without actually leaving any trace of evidence.
Simple fact is that without evidence of the other object. It could have been anything.
Seems from reading the responses in the article that common sense has ruled supreme in that with no parts of a drone evident it is at best speculation.
buck shot from a farmers 12 gauge whilst rabbiting ;D
Drones will rule the world one day LOL
i watched the terminator movies too ;)
