Hi guys I'm normally pretty damn good with google but with this I'm not lol, I'm trying to find where it states on the caa site where drone's cannot be flown at night if anyone could assist its for my facebook group..
cheers folks
I think you can as long as you maintain LoS (LEDs etc)
I haven't seen night time specified. So as far as I know the same rules as daytime apply.
just spoke to rob@caa, yup aslong as its not commercial and your within the caa guidelines your good to go .cheers steve
No difference in regulation between day and night as long a LoS is maintained.
Flying the Phantom at night I find I can safely go higher because the LEDs on the undersides of the arms are more visible. 400ft up during the day is pushing it for visibility but 1000ft at night is fine.
my thoughts exactly^^^^^
yup, night flying with LEDs on an aircraft has been popular for LOSers for years, it's all about maintaining LOS so there's no issue if LEDs light it up enough for your "spotter" to keep an eye on it.
Plus the air tends to be calmer at night... just don't use an EDF while the town is sleeping :D
^^^^^ha ha ha
Exactly this night rule only applies to commercial operators.
Hobbyists can crack on all night😀
