Title: First plank flight of 2016
Post by: Coyote on February 28, 2016, 09:53:19 AM
A new gimbal on board, a test of the launch mix I put in the taranis and different props today. Was a lovely day but as soon as we got there the clouds rolled over and the wind picked up, but we still managed to get everything flown.

! No longer available (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7Jq63P0gOM#)

Apologies to the lady who clearly didn't hear the plane approaching at 1:30 and completely crapped her drawers :)

It was just a buzz to get out for a fly again, even if it was freezing with the wind off the North Sea.

Your gimbal video looks pretty smooth to me.

PK  :)

Seems we all have the phantom disliker, its probably an ex member with a chip on their shoulder, all the FPVHub guys are getting it. I don't care, its just a button, means nothing to me :)

The gimbal is the FY mini instead of the ultra. The results really are worlds apart already. Because it did such a nice job yesterday its hard to see how much it really was doing so I am uploading a short clip of the live camera as well over the gimbal footage just to show how hard and well its working.

I will put that clip in the build thread. The wind that was hitting the plane while trying to keep against the dunes was mental.

Like that launch sequence idea, how easy is it to abort if you mess up?  :D

Just flick the switch back down or if you have hold of the plane after 10 seconds of no activity on the throttle stick it cuts the motors and returns to dormant.
