Title: MyTwinDream, Ritewing Z3 chase and a RCExplorer V3
Post by: Coyote on February 29, 2016, 12:57:37 AM
This is some live feeds from yesterday while flying with PK-Surfing, also there is the HD from the RCExplorer Tricopter chasing his Z3. It was my first attempt with it so it's a bit sketchy :)

! No longer available (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxO3ktFbmNQ#)

I had uploaded it earlier today but youtube blocked it because Coldplay's copyright was much stricter than normal so I had to re-edit with royalty free music.

Amazing footage, no wonder you're so fussy about your recording equipment when you have a place like that to fly.  :)

Watched this last night, awesome stuff! How are you enjoying the Tricopter? The tail on mine has been doing strange things since upgrading the F/W, seems to get worse as the flight goes on!

Thanks Neil, yeah its full of iron ore and slag there so it's a reception nightmare, you know when you have it right when you have a fairly good picture :)

I have only flown it three times, once was the initial LOS setup which was great, really locked in, the second was with tail tune used which screwed everything up, now I get tail oscillations that I never had even after rolling it back, the third time I have flown it you just watched so it's too early to say, but going off how it was yesterday flying in acro it's bloody brilliant ! :) Any auto level modes though completely spoilt any attempts at chasing.

Yeah autolevel is pants, I don't even have it configured as an option! I was getting similar, quite bad wagging as the flight went on! Didn't look too bad in that footage there though? What props are you running? I'm thinking of trying 10x5's, been running on 9x5's with 980kv on 4S, but think the 10x5's could give an extra punch!

The wagging or oscillations happened a few times but mainly when I turned into the wind. How I reduced it initially was adjusting the Yaw PIDs to :

Yaw p rate: 0.280
Yaw i rate: 0.038
Yaw d rate: 0.010

Currently flying on 9x5 on 900kv and getting 8 mins mixed flying, lack of puch though.
