Title: Chasing birds with a Venturi
Post by: iPeel on February 29, 2016, 05:49:42 PM
It's been a while since I posted anything here, so in the dead calm weather today I managed to burn a few batteries chasing birds around.

Haha, I kind of expected to find one skewered to my pitot tube when I landed Andy, I feel a new challenge coming on for when we meet up next...

Looks like you were having fun! Bet the farmer would have been happy as well, keeping the flock off his freshly ploughed field! :D

It wasn't that bad and on my way home anyway. Probably far less exercise than I could do with.

Very sad but lovely to see farming, using GPS guidance, with the "every other run" routine !!
Can't wait to get the Vent going 😬 Speed differential between that and the Falcon looks big !!!! 9x6 fitted ready 😀😀😀😀😀😀

In the flight before this one I was giving it the beans and she topped just over 120mph!

Wow that's fast for such a big wing. What motor are you running? The OS?

Nah'. I use a Scorpion SII 1190kv / 110a SJ EnergPro and a 9x7.5 APC prop. The package touches 90a at full throttle.

My servos are fully inboarded which I think helps with airflow over the wing a lot.
