First FPV flight of this glider I bought last summer with a really simple setup consisting of just a mobius as live and HD recording cam mounted on a 180 degree servo. VTx is Immersion RC. I've never used the mobius as a live cam before and having heard some reports I was fearing the worst, but as long as you set the exposure lock and don't mind some blown out sky it's actually pretty good, I've had worse board cams anyway.
No OSD or FC just relying on Frsky telemetry using a vario and battery monitor.
Cold, breezy day with no thermals to try and ride and the glider needs a bit of work to get it trimmed but so far so good. Looking forward to relaxing in summer with this one.

Nice job.
Be careful when using that servo if you've got the mobius feeding out through the USB plug - they do wriggle free when you're constantly panning around.
Good point, I'll bodge some sort of hook together.
I have one of these ASW28's and loving it. I've piggy backed the mobius and recorded LOS, but yet to FPV it properly ;)
Been working up a 3d printed mounting for a pan servo with mobius mount. I'll post up the details once its working.
I don't have a 3D printer so I just cut a hole in the top and jammed a pan servo in there, then got the round servo horn and cut it to fit the square in the bottom of the mobius mount:
Mobius and an Immersion VTX with a 5 volt Camera supply, my favourite easy FPV combination....
I would prefer it right out on the nose though, that way you would have an unrestricted view and be able to set the Camera angle to give 2/3rds ground and 1/3rd sky....perfect for best aperture control on the Moby.....:)
Too much canopy, and too much sky in view at the moment ?

There's not really anywhere else to put it as there's a motor on the nose. In any case I quite like the view as it is. Having some of the plane in view doesn't really bother me at all when it's a scale looking thing, in fact I prefer it.

Ah, didn't realise you had edited out the power on bits...:)....She flies nice, should be good on those hot thermally days, I like that view along the wing...classic....What servo are you using on your Camera Pan, it sounds pretty smooth?

Yeah can't wait for a thermal day, there's pretty much constant boomers round that field sometimes, big columns of gulls everywhere to tell you where to look too.

Yeah, looks good, 180 degree and metal geared, about £4.00 each....on my wishlist now, I'm not paying 4.80 just for postage...
Camera Pan on my SW1900....Bound to need some other bits soon...:)

I'm wondering why dedicated FPV models don't use blow molded fuselages like this thing has. The weight penalty seems minimal and it means there's just so much more room inside for a given exterior size and it's stronger. Perhaps tooling is more expensive or something?
FPV Raptor has the blown fuselage and it can take a beating - still looks new next to my Skywalker, my Skywalker is only a year old and is grubby as hell.

I am impressed, I have just ordered one from HobbyKing for some FPV gliding.

There's a massive thread in RC Groups but only thing I did to mine was add some dihedral, it looked all wrong with the flat wing, it also gives it a bit more directional stability and a nicer, lazier feel. Just got the wing joiner and bent it about six degrees or so.
A 3s 2200 balances it if you sit it about two thirds off the back of the battery tray although you could push it further back if you wanted to fit more gear towards the front.

Not my fault in any way, all caused by the beer and the tricky approach.
No damage at all, though! Strong plane for something so big and spindly.
