Well being British. Living in Germany, love Poland and have a wife from the Ukraine.... Not really.

I've been a few times. The bureaucracy is insane. Definitely not the place you want to be as a foreigner potentially doing something wrong. At the very least you better have enough cash on you to bribe the guy and hope he lets you go.

Despite having a passport with a visa, you still have to register when you arrive by going to a post office and filling out some arcane looking form in triplicate before handing over cash and getting a flimsy bit of stamped paper to keep with you for the duration of your stay.
