The Flyboard isn't fake, it's water powered, but this job has to be. He's calling this the Flyboard Air. There's no way you could generate that much static thrust from such a small package, plus why don't they show any take-off or landing clips?
Is it not possible to generate ~100kg of thrust from a contraption that size? Should be.
Four of something like a Jetcat P300 would generate that kind of thrust at full tilt but I'm not sure if they could generate that much static thrust. It seems a strange way of packaging them too.

OT: I've just been speaking to Jason Bradbury (who I work with) and showed him the clip, to which he replied:

It's extremely extremely cool if it's real.
But have jet engines really come forward in technology in recent years? If not- then how has recent tech allowednthis to be performed? The stability control from quadcopter CPUs would be vital I'm sure- but ca a jet engine really be tuned and tweaked every few ms to make the micro adjustments needed for stable flight?
For this reason- I say it's fake. Which is such a shame.

My concern is the throttle lag issue?
I'm yet to see a turbine that has no lag with the dropping and pickup of throttle changes.
So want this to be real, looks very cool but not sure how long I would last :happy:

In fairness the guy is experienced with the pressure build up of water through a hose so jet spool up time isn't going to introduce anything new. If this is real, there's no flight controller, or rather the flight controller is the pilot's body movement.

That's a good point.
It does look real but I agree I'd like to see an actual takeoff and landing.
Maybe it's a complete ballache to get in the air due to ground effect??
