from video description: The new Daemon Relay uses a Skywalker 1900 which simply loiters in a circle with 1.3Ghz video Rx way out at the end of one wing, and the UHF RC Tx out at the tip of the other wing. Works quite well, and can easily loiter for 30+ minutes, while I'm running 4-5 batteries through the quad. What makes it a "Daemon Relay" and not just some random repeater, is that I fly both aircraft through the same transmitter. When I change flight mode switch to fpv quad (or another fixed wing aircraft), the relay just loiters wherever it happens to be. I can flip a switch and it'll return home as well.
very clever- would allow a quad to break the laws of line of sight too assuming it can relay the control and video signal. means the maneuverability of a quad could be harnessed for exploring.
Yes it relays both RC control AND video feed.
Yeah pretty awesome setup those CO guys know how to do this FPV lark.
Something I've always wanted to try but never had the time
this is an old idea which has been really exploited of late. There was a guy flying a quad a while back who had pre-positioned relay quads around the town in order to maintain fpvlink and control while sitting in his back yard. The old and bold may remember it as it caused quite a stir. I'll try and find it later.
