It's ok, it will only affect 250 racers  :P

Yup and we can all carry on with long range FPV perfectly legally!  :+

The racers might be the only ones able to save the hobby if it ever comes to it.

The scene is growing, money is getting involved and are the only ones to put on displays and show to be 100% legal.

At Farnborough there will be racing in front of 80 thousand people. (apparently)

Yer seriously, multi million £ businesses have more of a sway in the way things work than some random guy who wants to fly his plane.

Ofcom know its awesome, and so do you.  :P

lol ... all it's gonna take is one person to get smacked in the teeth by a 60mph 250 gunning between some trees in a park and it's all over. People are a lot more plentiful than aircraft, I'll take my chances up high...

Yer there is always you "wild" flyers out there trying to ruin it for us club members.

It is on the brink at the moment, and it could go either way. There are big companies investing millions, and there are morons with no idea trying to impose more regulation. Eventually the hype may die down and we can all go back to being closet geeks sat in fields in peace.

If it does take hold and become main stream somehow (there are people trying to do this) then once it is established it is harder to stop.

Only time will tell, and I am happy with it going either way, as long as I get to fly.  :D

Since these 250 racers are being so kind as to step in and save FPV for the rest of us, perhaps you can use this new-found clout to have a word with Ofcom about the VTX output power.  I watched some of the live-out from your video of the racing and it was completely arse.  I don't think people are going to want to spectate by watching snow up on a big screen.  Get them to knock it up to 200mw, and give me the thumbs up when you've got it sorted :)

The four way footage was on a jumbotron with the VRx mounted behind the old barns we were flying over, so the video was crap for a lot of the lap.

There is a possibility that we have an exemption at an upcoming event to use 200mw VTxs on board, but you didn't hear that from me.  :P (it may not actually be true)

Then there is that connex thing that is being tested as a possibility for either flight cam or live spectator feed.

Helping out behind the scenes and meeting with people at the press day was very interesting. If even half of what they want to do happens it will be lots of fun.

You may of seen this Argos advert. Although it all looks CGI I can assure you that the flying and TVs are all 100% real.

! No longer available (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGfBtMchGkU#)

Some big companies are throwing big money our way at the moment.

The spectrum is all going to change in 2018 or so anyway.5g is steaming towards us at a rate of knots and they need more spectrum. It isn't all bad though 5-10 ms latency under 300 miles away so range no longer applies!😀
