failsafe kicked in 200m out and it landed just nicely in the drink. Will be having a few extra range tests on the next build I reckon!

Still hope for the video, albeit a tiny amount. the go pro was in a waterproof housing so if my friend who lives out there fancies rinding it i reckon a mornings diving could find it. not holding my breath though :laugh:
It was a TSX220, emax motors, little bee esc, sp racing mini, fr sky x4r, HS177, aomway vtx, go pro 3 silver.
No one got hurt, i had a load of fun flying up in the mountains the first day so I'm not too down. It can all be replaced ;)
If anyone wants a good flying holiday i suggest the south of france! Stunning scenery in the hills.

Aye it sucked a bit, I turned the readouts down too much and didn't hear anything... They're back up now :laugh:
The new build is under way too. version 2.0 will be better anyway ;)

Surprising just how bad these micro receivers are. I have had so many failsafes within 200-300m in open space. Being that I've been using DragonLink for the past 2 years it's quite surprising.
Doesn't inspire any confidence. All good when you are local but when you are in a new spot and trying to fly around water etc... well it's bollocks.
Yeah I've had a few funny failsafes at distances you wouldn't really expect but I think this crash was down to my own mistakes. the line between where i was sitting and where it went down (roughly) was blocked ever so slightly by the sea wall. I suspect its just gone behind it and wiped the signal out!
Were you logging data (SD logs)?
im not sure,does the taranis do this automatically or do you need to set it up?

You need to set it up in the Special Functions menu. Its SF17 in my pic, I have it set up to log at 0.1 second intervals when my throttle is active, via Switch G. The logged data is stored in CSV format on the Taranis and can be viewed using the Companion software.
