There are a good few builds of fixed wing things on here but not too many quads so I thought i'll put mine up on here.
Obviously they're pretty easy to assemble its sometimes tricky to get all the gear working and in the right place on these tiny frames. I'll try to picture and explain why I've put things where i have and any mods I've done.

Started by soldering the ESC to the pdb frame. I've crossed the cables so that the arm bolts can be accessed easily and so that the motor leads can be easily soldered on later as they're the right way up.

Next I made the battery mount for the bottom plate. I put the battery on the bottom to keep the CG down around the FC (go pro on the top). It also means that the battery lead is always below the prop line so reduces the risk of it being cut. The mount is just some 3mm ply from B&Q. I have had to use longer 3M bolts so they still reach though the frame.

Mounting the RX. After the control issues on the previous quad (RIP) I mounted the RX so that the antennae can stand upright at the top of the frame. Just used some cable ties and some heat shrink. Although as I'm writing this i remember I bought some antenna tubes so i'll probably replace the cable ties with those.

That's how I have my antennas, and ive only ever had 1 failsafe, and that was because the antenna had come unplugged.
Ive have built nearly 10 of these frames now (I build for others). Such a nice layout to build.

The wooden square next to the frame is a mount for the board to sit on, I really like the SP racing board because it can be made so small. I don't like mounting boards directly onto the frame for obvious reasons. Because the frame is designed to have the board sandwiched between the standoffs ill need to add my own standoffs later on.

Flight controller all wired up to the esc's and RX and test fitted to the frame. All fits perfectly with about 2-3mm to spare :o

Delivery scheduled tomorrow for the motors and camera so i can finally get it finished!
The last piece of the puzzle was delivered a few days ago and the build was finished.
I'm pretty happy with the neatness of it. It is a little bit heavier because of the metal standoffs, the cable mesh, the wooden mounting plates and the 'shoe Goo' over the solder joints and antenna. The Shoe goo gives me piece of mind knowing that a crash will not result in a loose connector.
The CG is bang on and the AUW with go pro session is 630g, 523g without gopro and then 366g with out the battery and go pro.
