Title: PK's Drak
Post by: pk-surfing on June 09, 2016, 06:32:27 PM
Built and maidened my Drak a while back.

The maiden with Coyote and Luvbus was a non-event as I'd messed setting up the Vector and it rolled hard left on the first two launches, cartwheeled but hardly any damage which was a surprise to all of us !

Third launch I turned the gain on the Vector to zero and it launched off and flew great.

Since then I've done 12 launches with two of them torque rolling and stalling into the ground (well waist high green corn so a soft landing) so decided to give the Vector's 3D setting a try.

Today at the field I held it at about 20 degrees nose up and wings horizontal, flicked the mode switch into 3D, throttled up and did my usual underarm slow launch being carefull not to touch the right stick at all as thqat would have reset the 3D orientation.

It was magic, the Drak just went off in a steady smooth climb with no torque roll.

After a few seconds I switched it out of 3D mode and had a fly round, I'm happy knowing it works.

None for the 3D launches today, I'll take tripod and camcorder for next time

Did you use your new skews on the drak Paul? Just wondering how they performed if you did

It has a Bignose13 skew on it that you made a few months back, also one on my Fatshark goggles.

Not gone any distance with it but the video is rock solid as expected, the aerials are one part of the system I fit and forget now.
