Bought an X8 I a few years back off a local flyer who gave FPV a try a couple of times with me and Coyote, finally got it off the shelf to build it up.
A lot of foam wing planes have the spar tube moulded into parts of the wing and you glue two parts with 'half moon' shaped slots together, I use UHU POR and whilst careful to keep it away from right next to the tube recess I inevitably got some showing itself along the joint line looking down the spar hole.
Left it 24hrs and trying the carbon fibre in the holes was a tight fit and the tiny spots of glue were grabbing the spar and making them difficult to get in and out.
I did it a few times hoping it would free up but no luck and decided to try something.
Got the plain flour out of the cupboard, got a drink straw and pushed it into the flour.
Ther flour stayed in the straw which I inserted almost full length down the spar hole, deep breath and blow....
Result was a face full of white flour as it shot down the tube and back out at me.
Tried the spar and..... it went in and came out with just the right amount of friction, the flour dust had stuck to any tiny bits of glue and 'neutralised' its tendency to grab onto the spar.
Did it to the second wing and still got flour on me from blowback but well worth it, so maybe half a teaspoon of flour and it's fixed.
Thought I'd share
PK :)
