First there was a prop and then an electric chip fryer
Think someone is telling me to sit down and watch daytime tv
I was ready to put the chips in the basket so lifted the handle, took out the basket and caught the lid, which tilted all over my arm and stomach
Straight up boys, I've never been in so much pain, and I fact nearly passed out at A&E when the doctors were treating me before being taken by ambulance to Swansea burns unit
Home now after a 3 day stay in hospital
Gotta say a big thanks to doctors and nurses, absolutely fantastic
Long road to recovery now
If pics offend I'll take down

OWWWW! I hope that heals as fast as it can and heals well. :(
So sorry to read about your latest bit of bad luck Simon. Take it easy, keep it clean and gather your thoughts on your next FPV project. If you fancy a beer and a chat one day just PM me.
Simon, Simon, Simon mate you're having no luck, just wish there was some way you could share the pain between a few of us on here :(
Hope it starts mending itself soon.
PK :)
Dear me, sorry to hear about that fella. I'm thinking maybe we should all chip in and buy you a big roll of bubble wrap?
Chin up mate. Ouch.
That looks really painful - me and my wife just looked at the pictures going "oooh, arrgh". Get well soon mate
Hells teeth that looks sore, time for some down-time fella, get well soon
Cheers guys, really do appreciate it, after loosing my finger nails I thought things couldn't get any worse
I really couldn't wish the pain I had on any worse enemy, it was horrific to the point I nearly passed out before I received the morphine
I nearly got a tear in my eye thinking about it now
Anyway home now and I missed the Welsh game well I got the second half on the radio in the back of the ambulance on the way to Swansea
Cheers again really mean it :grouphug:
Really sorry to see that Simon, must`ve been horrendous pain.
On the plus side at least I got my antennas between incidents
Seriously though, best wishes for a speedy recovery, maybe you need to slow down a bit.
Good God man! That looks so so painful, I wish you a speedy recovery.
Nasty. Burns are certainly some off the worst. Major burn victims are often suicidal.
Is it just me or do you have a really long middle finger!? :D
God above, just think, a burn with a fag-end hurts enough - I can't imagine how painful that must have been.
Be careful with it and get mended as soon as ya can FPV dude.
Best wishes ;D
So sorry to see your like this Simon I have total sympathy with you I accidently put my elbow in a commercial fryer many years ago whilst trying to save a test meter from falling in, That pain was unbelievable So with burned hands I can only imagine :(
Hope you can sleep ok and the pain killers have it all under control, I can only wish you well with a speedy recovery.
kindest regards
dizzy
That's and awful run of luck mate. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a safer future :-)
I know how much pain and agro you are going through. I did exactly the same many years ago and I still have the scars. For that reason we banned deep fat fryers at home and we use one of these now http://www.tefal.co.uk/Cooking-appliances/Healthy-Fryers/ActiFry-White-1KG/p/1500635536. We have had one for years and they are so safe I let the grandkids use it.

Ouch, that looks proper painful Simon! Hope you're not in too much discomfort, just take it easy and hopefully you will recover quickly! Will they need to do grafts or anything with it?
Oh mate that sucks.
Hope that's not your er "play" hand....
Wow,
I thought it smarted a bit yesterday when I burnt me thumb removing the canopy off the trex 700, and always burn myself on the exhaust.
But WOW,
Get well soon mate.
:welsh:
Hope u get well soon mate and take care.
Get well NOW mate.
I lived with a woman who was so nasty, she'd have walked in and said "MMMMmmmm I can smell chicken" and probably walked out again.
Don`t know if this will help cheer you up. :)
Using Bignose 5 turn helical.
Nice mate, great to see people fly if i'm not
On a side note though, I'd like to thank all you lot for the kind words of get well etc, really, the last week has been hell for me, with the pain and nightmares I've been having, this helps me move on, and today I've managed to get on the chat to talk to a few of you, made my day tbh, thanks guys
:grouphug:

I used a Bignose 5 turn recently as well. My Bixler went down somewhere in very long bushes, but not where I thought. Although I could see the coordinates in my goggles, I couldn't work out how to make google maps take me there on my phone (I must sort this out though), so I used the 5 turn on my goggles and used it as a direction finder. Turn my head, look for each extreme where it's getting fuzzy, then go back to the middle and follow my head. Repeat until found (although it didn't help me when I walked through a bog and now have smelly trainers)

Excellent news Simon, glad there's no lasting damage - could have been much worse.
Should I buy shares in the bubble wrap factory though? Sounds like you need to wear a suit!
My Mrs has given me a Gypsies warning about doing anything silly again
Just gotta slow down a bit and act my 51 years :(

Heh - what will be will be... I normally cause disasters in the house where none should be. And yet I never came off a scrambler / rope swing / dodgy go-kart when I was a kid lol. Can't tempt fate :)
Having said that I have a flying lesson on Tuesday :o

Hey fella, as some one of the same fantastic vintage as your good self, growing up is well over rated, stay young, stay silly, stay safe.
All the best 👍
Right good to see it ended well, cheers for Welsh NHS they fixed it very well for you. I just bought a deep fryer today, it is well designed and strategically positioned on the worktop to minimize any chance of an accident but after seeing this thread I am having second thought.
