Can anyone explain why..
When I upload a decent quality 1080p vid from a Mobius to You Tube, the HD quality seems to be retained (although it takes forever, obviously).
But if I start with a poor quality VGA noisy vid from my goggles, You Tube seems to compress it even more, and make it much worse?
I'd like to be able to see the best I can from the low quality source...is there anything I can do to get You Tube to preserve the (low) resolution?

In the past I've imported my DVR footage into Movie Maker and rendered it at one of the 720p modes that has a higher bitrate than the original file. This itself does not make the image any better, but when I upload to Youtube it seems to be a bit clearer than if I just uploaded the raw file off the DVR.
I would assume your HD footage would have a decent bitrate, whereas your DVR footage would have a much lower bitrate. Youtube's compression might not appear to have much of an effect on a high bitrate video file, but the same amount of compression on a lower bitrate file will be much more noticeable.
Im with BF on this....I noticed the same effect after doing some annotation inside Windows Movie Maker on a raw fpv dvr recording.....In Movie Maker after you get done editing, it gives you the option to save it as a U -Tube friendly file.
You can see this Bixler 2 clip on my channel....looks as good on the Tube as the original did, if not better.....The key to it all I found is getting your fpv camera setup right with WDR on, and enough brightness set....another is ensuring a good signal from vrx to dvr...
Some of my earlier recording were utterly crap I should add, but it was cured after experimenting with settings / cables....not " upgrading"

I'll look into using a vid editing suite - all new to me - only ever recorded, viewed & uploaded.
The U-tube-friendly file format sounds the ticket.
I think the camera setup is good, WDR on, good brightness & contrast as the pic is great in the goggles and the raw DVR playback is good at home, it just seems to get screwed by Utube.
