they look good. only a bit more expensive than the Predators, but image quality of the HD's

sounds like a winner to me.

It will be good to see the reviews.

Are they the same resolution?
Says VGA 640 x 480.
The HDs are 800 x 600 I think?

they make a point about the image being as good if you are using  fpv cam feeds.
I am sure they are not the same if you plug an hdmi cable from an inspire into them...

A friend just had some arrive today (ordered Friday from HK international warehouse, £260 with no import)!

A few of us had a play (ground based fpv cam). First impressions:

Nice big image, no perception or edge blur (normal vision, no dioptres), colours looked good and nice quality.

Myself and a mate use Dom v1 and were very tempted and I also prefer them to a pal's Dom v3; other mate has Dom v2 and was rather impressed!

Hoping to fly with them later this week...

mine just came.
I have predator v2 and now I am sitting in the front row at the cinema!

the image is big compared to the predators. nice fit and finish, not been flying yet but I am really looking forward to giving them a go.

I love the SD card built in, that has eliminated a load of crap from my groundstation on its own.

really pleased.

Hi...

I am only just getting into FPV having been flying an FX-79 for a while (LOS) and recently got a Flyingwings Falcon EVO.
both are fitted out for FPV and I took my first FPV flight last weekend (with the help of Rob from Flyingwings)

Half way through the first flight, he put the goggles on me ('til then, I was using a screen on my TX) and OMG!!!!  :o
WOW!!!! I now NEED some goggles!

I have looked at many options and I keep coming back to the Dominator SE's...

I think Santa needs to get his act together!

quick and dirty video from my DOM SE DVR.
I managed to delete the rest of the video I had carefully cut together while it was rendering it in moviemaker so this is just the gemii flight.

Does it matter???

I think it is a 16 gb class 10 Job but you don't need anything special for sd video. I just have a lot of them from the inspires and go pro I have. Class 4 or better should do fine.

What's a BETA tester? Lol.. No, I'm just a customer...

The goggles are here! They are VERY nice but a little tight on the bridge of my nose...
I might have to figure that out...???

Post by: KillerDave on October 18, 2016, 11:12:14 PM
Ok, So I have two issues with these goggles...
1, Is the tightness on the bridge of my nose.
I think if I increase the thickness of the foam should help.
2, is the un-focused edges...
I don't know how to fix this yet??? I did try the diopters but this didn't seem to change much...

I've not had a flight yet but I can't wait! :-)

I've got the Dom HD 2's. I find the fit to be a bit finicky. I use mine with a matrice 100. Rather than have the headstrap horizontal around the head I position there headstrap at sort of 20% up from horizonal. The slightly blurred edges don't bother me that much when flying as I'm concentrating on the centre. But strap placement helps, have a play also with strap tightness

Seconded I find it clears up if the strap is higher than the eye level f the goggles. That blurred around the edges view must be what it is like for a girl with tight pigtails!

Something must be wrong for the amount of money you have been stung for. Did they itemise it?

Lol... They're blurry on one side or the other.. depending on how I set the IPD...???
I tried the -2 diopters and they just made the whole thing bigger...

I did ask them to brake it down for me...
£38.98 Import Duty,
£65.32 VAT and,
£11 Handling fee...
How do they charge a handling fee if the seller has paid the shipping and it was the same company moving the box around??? ffs!

I have had that but I managed to adjust the ipd to suit my face. I just played with the distances on each eye until it worked. It is still a bit hazy around the edges I suppose but because the fov is so big I don't notice it unless I look.
Don't get me started on their handling fees😬 you just got unlucky loads of people got them through with nothing...

Yup and yup....

It does seem the edges can be fixed with better diopters...

It seems that FS could be doing better with their optics??? I have seem reports that this is a common problem...
What do you guys think???

SnoozeDoggyDog

I think you are correct...
As I will be mostly looking at the center of the screen, it'll probably not bother me much...
It's just when I want to look at my OSD info some of it will be harder to see....

.

The fee is for organising the customs clearance and collection of duty on behalf of HMRC. UPS charge £11, DHL £10, Parcel Farce £15 etc etc. I was just charged VAT and Duty on the goods plus the original shipping fee. I challenged including the shipping fee and got that refunded. We all need to be careful and check the prices now the $,€,£ rates are so bad. Sometimes UK suppliers are as cheap

There is a post on here somewhere of a supplier who will make a custom set of diopters to your individual prescription that for the gogs exactly. I will post if I can find it.

Consider myself lucky I fly on a nice bright, backlit Monitor, with dual recievers and numeric RSSI with auto Scan and 32 channels.....Cost..?..... £115.
I can also place OSD text around the perphery of the Screen, look up, go LOS and back again easily....Im also aware of others activity around me.
If I was a Multi rotor fan, it would be a different story, Im not and cant get the IPD to work for me either.....Im so lucky.....:)

The one good thing that came of this taxes thing is that I had a lump of points with HK but then I lost that in the taxes!... I had £108 + change so in the end I paid £279...

I can live with that...  :)

I had some time in the SE's this weekend and after all of that blurry edges and wot-not...
It's not a problem at all!
Even when looking directly at the sides for my OSD I could see very clearly and no burryness!
Very happy now!
