You can do a go around Steve if you are coming in hot.....landing isn't compulsory...lol.

Don't you ever land LOS?, I do quite a lot......there are a lot more visual clues of speed and distance LOS...

It does look like it flies nice though m8....:)

No I much prefer landing FPV feels much more natural to me. I can't fly LoS for toffee any more heh

Hi Steve..

I have been flying FPV for about 2 years now....I find LOS flying now a bit boring to say the least, having done it for about 40 years or so....but I do land LOS quite often, as I find it easier to land a lot nearer and at the right speed than it would be on the Camera.
It's quite noticeable, but a lot of FPVers do a controlled crash at their feet rather than a flared, slowed up landing. Im convinced that some of them have never flown LOS... ever.
I think it comes from me flying Single Channel RC years ago, when we used to have Spot Landing competitions....lol.

Glad you have the little Talon mended m8 look forward to some more footage......:)

You really don't like to walk to get a plane do you Steve.  I can recall several incidences of plane hitting car/gate/you/chair.  You *could* give yourself a little more space, but it would mean extra walking... it's a balancing act :)

I have terrible depth perception due to having a bad eye - which probably accounts for my terrible landings "line of sight". It's why I hit the electricity cables with my Skywalker, I thought I was about 50m away from them when in fact I was right on top of them ... heh.

I do tend to come in hot sometimes with my Skywalker as well though even under the goggles :D

See - but I was flying LoS and it didn't look as steep as it does in the footage. I was just way too high to even think about landing. If I was in the goggles I'd have noped out and gone around.

To me Steve, this landing approach is just a bit too short, even though you did land it where you wanted it...No time for the plane to bleed off speed before landing...
I also fly the plane down sometimes, especially if it's a bit breezy, using a longer approach and a fair bit of throttle, gives you a bit more time to adjust speed and distance..Try it next time you go out....Longer approach...:)

Small.
Slow.
Heavy.
Pick any two...
You knew that LOL, Grandmothers & eggs again
:D
I agree, I always land in the goggles, and a long approach gives ya time to balance speed and height and get as close to the stall as ya dare.
Love it.
:P

Funny thing is I think I was a better pilot when I first started out - now I just worry too much and it ends up causing problems - probably because I know what CAN happen rather than what IS happening :D
