Title: WiFi AC-type 2.4 & 5gHz converter / receiver ?
Post by: wgt40w on September 07, 2016, 05:07:41 PM
Asked purely out of technical interest.

I note that a few RTF manufacturers, e.g. Parrot and Yuneec, are now selling craft where the vtx transmissions are broadcasting on WiFi AC-type, 2 bi-band antennas (2.4 and 5GHz).

If I am right in thinking this is the same as modern domestic router wifi systems, my questions are:-

1) Does any manufacturer make and sell a vrx (receiver) to pick up these signals - that could then be outputted to a screen or goggles. Uno 2400 maybe ?

2) Would existing 2.4 gHz vrx antennas (e.g. those suitable for, say Immersion Uno 2400) be tuned to the correct frequency range ?

As far as the dji kit goes it hops across available channels on 2.4. The transmitted video is encrypted.
