Yes, you read correctly; it is certainly a novel approach to disaster relief.
With a name like Windhorse, you would reasonably expect it to be an equine product. Alas, once again we, and possibly Tesco, are being wilfully misled about the contents. At least this time it is only vegetarian though.

Nice way to ruin a days flying. Rock up at the field, feel a bit peckish - then suddenly realise you've got nothing to fly and only crumbs on your t-shirt.
This is ridiculous! Their graphics show it being deployed from a Hercules. So why not just drop food parcels out the back of a Hercules like they do now?

They won't drop them out of a C130 for fear of being shot down. That's the reason Aleppo is in the state it's in. Even the trucks get blasted. His idea is to throw them out of the back at 10,000 feet, 40 kilometres away from the danger area. A simple GPS and stabilisation will guide it down to the affected area.
The idea is nice because using drones saves money and lives but he still has to use the C130 which the military will not allow.
Ill have mine flight tested with Gaffa Tape repair kit...
