Hey guys, so I've been looking at this video and how friendly it is on helping you build the plane, also I really like the look of the plane itself!
Was just wondering what peoples opinions are on these guys and their products?

I built an FT Explorer last winter. You just follow their 'build' video, often pausing it while your build 'catches up'.
Required:
A hot glue gun with 'suitable/ runny' glue sticks.
A craft knife with lots of spare new blades.

I've built a few flite test planes from the plans and they are generally pretty good for self builds. Views on the flite test channel aside I think they are really good designs for the most part. The sea plane does look good, are you ordering from the Graupner store?
I used to watch flite test videos all the time, now they are a bit tiresome, and are definitely geared towards promoting the gear they sell. They are definitely focused on people new to the hobby I think, which is no bad thing in itself, they just don't have much in the way of 'new material' any more because of that. I also don't like the people they have presenting any more, they are definitely trying to appeal to a younger audience.
Anyway, all that said I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of the foam board kits.

Would it be better to order from the graupner store? I watched the video that they have it for the EU now so surely it'd be better for me if I do get one? It all depends really, still have to get this bixler in the air first haha :) but thanks for the replies and everyone else too!

Thank you for that comprehensive breakdown of the flitest staff and their efforts. Invaluable as always ........ lol
Myself, I think the guys are of course perfectly fine. They are good at presenting and the whole package is very well made. The content and path they choose though no longer interested me as a subscriber so I no longer follow them.

Thanks, yeah I guess like Iwan said they've leant more towards entry level and a younger age, which is fine for them but obviously pro's like yourselves have been there done that so it's tedious I imagine lol :) for me it's like finding a diamond in the rubble! Haha
The thing to remember is that American Foamboard like they use in their Videos is unique. You simply cant get this stuff in the UK.
The paper will peel off with ease in their Videos, try that with something you might source here or even in Europe...and you will find it wont peel off at all, quite the opposite in fact.
You can obtain Depron here in sheet form though, its not the same, and doesn't have the same rigidity either, so requires a different approach entirely to Foamboard.

These guys have recently paired up with Graupner so I'm wondering if that means you can get the same foam now by ordering it from them? Or will they use a different type of board?

A lot of the Foamboard FT Kits are Laser Cut. So, they will probably be the genuine stuff.
If Graupner are the distributors, you can be sure it will be expensive.
