Shoutbox was no longer used, with no replies over 12 hours at a time it just makes the forum look bad so the feature has been disabled.
I think it went through fits and starts. It as certainly less used than in previous months.
It was useful to chat though. Perhaps we should have an alternative then if it's not coming back? IRC anyone?
I will put it back on for a bit. See if it gets used again.
Perhaps rather than removing it fully, put it in a pop-up with a button on the main site? That way it won't look bad on the homepage if no one should, but users can still shout/chat if they want to?
If shoutbox disappears then the forum will be spoiled IMO (and no better than FPV Lab) - back in the day I only joined because it existed and I thought it was a great way to talk to other people about FPV.
Some times it's busy some times it's not - but do you really think the forum looks "bad" if it is quiet? Who are these people we care about so much that we'd disable a unique feature of the forum in order to appease? Makes zero sense to me.
Anyway, it'll probably get busier again as the winter rolls in and people are stuck indoors.
Has Shoutbox gone to join the not-available-if-using-Chrome-browser Members Map ??
