Hi guys
There are pages and pages of possible laws and regulations. It's all very depressing.
But I can't seem to find a date as to when they will come into effect?
In short- how long can we continue this hobby before we have to dick about with registering etc or only buying off the shelf kit?
Indefinitely. Screw the EASA. The day I have to register my stuff is the day I don't.
I don't see why anyone who goes beyond line of sight is half interested in regulations. I belive it's called an oxymoron!?

In short we continue under the current regulations until we are advised otherwise. Keep watching this (FPVHUB) space.

Fair enough. But I can envisage the police being told to look out for people and make a fuss about it. Instead of catching real criminals of course.
Is there no proposed date for these changes? I'm hoping we have another year or two :s
Martial Law? January 20th if you live in the states :P

Your not alone Billy_Boy. I was thinking the same thing having been away a while. I'm of the same opinion as Steve. IF this legislation comes in I think the damage to the model industry would be massive with the only beneficiaries being the commercial drone companies and industry.
I was a bit concerned as I Have the Inspire and was worried that Dji would have to send an update to restrict everything. But I have all my naza bored and I don't need to update that.
I'm sure some clever person will be able to chip the new technology to fly how you won't.
I think it's just because thay don't want us plebs to have axes to technical there now using, I remember back in London when all the righting was going on, I was showing all the police my FPV gear, thay were well impressed and said how good it would be if thay had something similar.

EASA is now working towards preparing and releasing rules for formal consultation by the end of March 2017 (rather than by then end of 2016 as originally intended) with a target for the rules being implemented in 2018.
Think yourselves lucky you don't live in France http://www.modelflying.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=123224 (http://www.modelflying.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=123224)

That's what they did to me! Luckily I was well prepped, new the regs, had all my paperwork with me, was on private property with permission, new where atc was, model under 3.6kg etc etc. Still very intimidating though. Especially the "now we know you we will keep an eye out" comment. These where 2 Traffic Cops BTW
Take the time to read the link to the French Fiasco,

Blimey!
Can you elaborate? I must have missed the thread.
What kit were you using? And what laws did they place the most emphasis on?
And did they just drive past? Or did someone report you?
