Last weekend I was flying my 250 and had a prop blade break off on landing. No big deal as it happens frequently, usually after I clip a branch or gate etc. A mate commented that I should try the BullNose props as that's what the guys in his club use and they never break. Can anyone point me at a UK supplier please as I am not sure what he is referring to.
Cheers

All bull nose means is that the prop has been cut down from the next size up (normally to increase the overall area of the prop), so a 5045 Bull nose prop is a 6045 prop with the end cut off (bull nose, or blunt nose) to make it 5"
Get them anywhere, Banggood is cheap, and the kingkong props they do seem ok. I use the DAL5045BN's (2 blade) on several of my quads, I really like those
I've been using the 5" 3 blade kingkong props, they're cheap and good. I don't see too many people using bullnose props any more, except on really small quads.
I think it was for the unbreakabillity aspect he was thinking off. I will get some and have a go.
That's got more to do with the material than the shape, though. Some props are just more brittle than others.
DAL props are the most durable props I could find. Still need to replace them quite often, especially if you want smooth HD footage.
My new props really made the flight super smooth. However, after a really eventful landing I changed the pack for a fresh one and could not get the motors to arm!!

Dal cyclones are my go to props. In a pinch you can bend them back into shape and carry on. If you're like me and like skimming the ground at speed they will get nicked and burred from thistles and long grass but not had one break yet.
Wish I was good enough to skim the ground! Just getting the hang of manual flight at 20 plus feet lol

Out of curiosity I just put a watt meter on my ZMR250, 70 watts at WOT !!!!! No wonder the 25c pack gets a bit warm! I am sure it wasnt pulling that before i updated the betaflight to the latest?
70 watts? Have you missed a zero off that?! Assuming you're on 3s that's about 1 amp per motor!

Oh poo I meant 70 amps not watts. My only excuse is I was at a top wedding reception last night in Essex, say no more!

I was using some racekraft props but they drain your battery quickly. I've gone back to Dal cyclones and much prefer them. I would recommend.
I do have some posh new Gemfan Flash props I have yet to try also the twin blade equivalent. Will give an opinion once I've given them some stick.
Any results yet on the gemfans? I have read reports that they are battery killers so interested on your feedback.

They are certainly that. Sharper thrust yet arguably more quiet. According to my scales they are 0.4g lighter tho imo any efficiency benefit is countered by the aggressive pitch. Not managed to break any so far but the tips of the blade are thin and prone to going a bit ragged. If you want something that will grab the air well I'd definitely get some, just keep an eye on the amp draw. I still have to try the bi blade version and some EMAX avan R5.56 (which are cheap but apparently have durability issues).
